What Corydalis yanhusuo is
Corydalis yanhusuo is a traditional East Asian medicinal plant. Its tubers contain numerous alkaloids, including tetrahydropalmatine and related compounds that have attracted pharmacological research.
What research shows
Reviews describe a broad range of preclinical and traditional-use findings, including pain-related pharmacology. That does not automatically translate to proven benefit for a specific dietary supplement or for peripheral neuropathy.
Quality and safety questions
A 2025 analysis of Corydalis dietary supplements found large variability in alkaloid content across sampled products. Reviews also describe toxicity concerns that depend on dose and preparation.
What this means for Nerve Fresh
The label specifies a 10:1 Corydalis root extract but does not list alkaloid standardization. Without a finished-product clinical trial, it is not appropriate to claim the ingredient makes Nerve Fresh a proven nerve-pain treatment.
Evidence limits
